Meet the Team

Donna L. Ploof, Senior Solutions Consultant

Donna is Senior Solutions Consultant with Trusted Employees in Minnetonka, MN. Her exceptional ability to discover and deliver new screening information makes her an asset within our company and a coveted guest speaker among numerous associations, agencies and administrations.

Specializing in Due Diligence Background Reporting and Solutions Consultation and Training, Donna frequently handles information pertaining to due diligence, permissible purpose, proper selection of searches and drug testing. Her research is current, her perspective is fresh, and her expressive style lends clarity to the ambiguity often surrounding many aspects of the screening industry. Donna has spoken at a number of conferences, seminars and events, hosted by organizations such as the TwinWest Chamber of Commerce, Bethel University, the MN Association of School Business Officials (MASBO) and Department of Education, the Winona Society of Human Resource Management and the Southern MN Park and Recreation Association.

With upper level experience in employment law, financial management and human resource staffing, Donna understands the changing demands on HR administrations and the changing needs of HR professionals.  She brings this understanding to her executive role with Trusted Employees and to her public service role within the larger Human Resource community of Minnesota.  Currently, Donna is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and serves as VP of Membership on the Human Resource Professionals of Minnesota (HRP-MN) Board of Directors.

Tony Karels, Multi-Housing Division Manager

Tony has been with Trusted Employees since 1998 and currently manages our Multi-Housing Division. His career path has taken some exciting turns over the years, and we have undoubtedly benefited from his ingenuity and inexhaustible ambition since day one.  In 1993, Tony graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Business Management program, at which point he started seeking out the organizational experience that would direct his educational expertise.

Throughout his career, Tony has been involved with a number of associations, including Minnesota’s Manufactured Housing and Real Estate Investors Associations (the MMHA and MNREIA), and the National Associations of Housing & Redevelopment and Professional Background Screeners (the NAHRO and the NAPBS).  Tony currently serves as chairperson of the MHA Board of Directors, which facilitates the continual process of connecting industry standards to member, resident and community needs.

Tony notoriously extends himself beyond the workplace walls and is widely regarded as an expert in his field. He has testified at various legislative hearings related to applicant screening and assisted municipalities across Minnesota with the development and implementation of screening programs. Tony maintains an active level of community and organizational involvement as a guest speaker, making regular appearances at Crime-Free Multi-Housing Coalition reviews, resident education and improvement seminars; as well as industry conferences, such as those hosted by the MHA, MHFA and NHARO.

Tony Lipinski, Senior Solutions Consultant

Tony Lipinski is a Senior Solutions Consultant at Trusted Employees. He has 13 + Years experience in the background screening with an expert knowledge in the background screening industry and compliance. He has built a large referral base nationally through continuously networking and working with client base specializing in non-profit, education, transportation, manufacturing & financial industries.

He conducts webinar training in regards to compliance and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and brings that expertise to Trusted Employees.

Tony has met with Human Resources and Security Departments to ensure a cost effective compliant solution will be achieved to meet the customer’s needs. Tony has demonstrated his expertise in regulated Industries to Trusted Employees working with DOT customers throughout his career. He helped executed a plan of action for the Associated Colleges of the Twin Cities so they could meet the challenges of hiring the right people and maintain a safe campus environment. He has also built a partnership with the National Rural Electric Cooperative (NRECA), Juvenile Product Manufacturing Association JPMA), MN CUPA – HR, National CUPA - HR and Payroll Control Systems (PCS).

His specialties include a solid understanding of a diverse range of business management applications, including market analysis, sales and marketing, customer service, account management, team building and quality assurance. We are excited that Tony brings his demonstrated ability to gain new clients to help Trusted Employees continue to grow.
